The Staffing Blueprint

Most business owners would agree with the cliché, "Good help is hard to find."

Have you ever lost a key employee unexpectedly?

I'm willing to bet that you have and that it was a terrible experience for you.

Here's a simple blueprint for staffing that you can use regardless of how many times you have to replace employees.

Step 1: Make a List

Make a list of everything you do in your business. Most owners do WAY more than they should. Take the time to make a list of everything you do.

Step 2: Separate into three categories

Once you have the list from Step 1, categorize those items into skilled, unskilled, and managerial.

Step 3: Organize by department

Now that you have a task list that is categorized, the next step is to organize by department. There are only four departments: marketing, sales, finance, and operations.

Are you interested in exiting your business for maximum value?

Are you interested in preserving your legacy through your business?

Are you interested in peace of mind as you move on to the next phase of your life?

This exercise is simple. You only need one sheet of paper or a spreadsheet with three columns.

Column one has your tasks. Column two has your categories. Column three has your departments.

Once you have this in place, you will have a better idea of who should be doing what.

Here's a hint... It's NOT you!

This is how you start to remove yourself from the stress, worry, and overwhelm of the daily grind. If you put simple systems in place, you'll be able to relax more and worry less.
